石原葉は、東北芸術工科大学芸術工学専攻博士課程在籍。価値観の違う人々と共生することを研究テーマに、絵画制作、他アーティストとの共同活動を行っている。制作において人が風景や人と対面する際に無自覚にも重ねてしまうフィルターを、一度描いた人物や風景を白い絵具で覆ったり削ったりという行為によって表現。活動では主に「東北画は可能か？」にて、学年も領域も違う学生たちと東北で表現することを模索している。主な展示としては、２０１６年山種美術館展 SEED（山種美術館）、佐藤美術館第２５回奨学生美術展（佐藤美術館）、２０１７年美大生展（SEZON ART GALLERY）、展示構成を担当したものとして、２０１５年東北画は可能か？地方之国構想博物館（東京都美術館）、２０１７年東北画は可能か？地方之国構想博物館（鶴岡アートフォーラム）。

Yo Ishihara is a second grade student in the doctor program of art engineering at Tohoku University of Art and Design. Her theme for painting and activities is “How to coexist with people who have different sense of values”. She expresses unconscious prejudice everyone has when one encounters unfamiliar persons or landscapes by covering motif with white color or by scraping it off. In a group activity ‘ Is it possible “TOHOKU-GA”? ’, she coworks with students in other grades or courses to have exhibitions and makes its archives. Her exhibitions include SEED 2016 (Yamadane art museum), 25th Sato International Cultural Scholarship exhibition (Sato Museum), BIDAISEITEN 2017 (SEZON ART GALLERY). She was a curator for ‘Is it possible “TOHOKU-GA”? Museum for Hypothetical State of Tohoku 2015’ (Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum) , ‘Is it possible “TOHOKU-GA”? Museum for Hypothetical State of Tohoku 2017’ (Tsuruoka Art Forum).
