ダイアン・マリーの作品には、パブリックアート、キュレーション、ウォオーキングのシステム、出版、垂れ幕プロジェクト、コミュニティ活動、フェスティバル主催、詩の朗読会など、彫刻、テキスト、画像や場づくりなど多岐にわたる。彼女は、Cマガジン誌、Cold Cityギャラリー、DIG IN、Walk Here、Dupontプロジェクト、BIG：Bloor Improvement Group、BIG On Bloor フェスティバルの創始者でもある。 ダイアンのWalk Hereプロジェクトは、過去30年に渡り都市におけるより良い健康や精神状態のためにパブリックアート、緑地、ガーデニングの場を形成してきた実績を持つ。述べ５００名を超える市民が参加したアルファルト・ガーデンでは、参加者一人一人が、生誕、死別、懺悔、愛の祝福或いは情事、などの人生の転換期を彷彿させる花のドローイングを制作した。それらのドローイングは、ステンレス製のスチールで再製作され、トロントのブロア通りの歩道に設置されている。How We Live In Citiesと名付けられた彼女の市民団体は、地球温暖化と人口増加に関するアートと環境のプロジェクトである。彼女は、今年11年目を迎え、毎年１０万人を超える市民が参加するBIG On Bloor フェスティバルの創始者であり、過去のクリエイティブディレクターでもある。彼女は、世界550都市が参加した1000 Thousand Poets for Changeのトロントのオーガナイザーであり、House of Lancasterストリップクラブでの１６の詩の朗読会は、女性のためのシェルターのファンドレージングイベントであった。現在、ダイアンは、エデン・アーカイブのために線路沿い、市内の道路、工場のグレーのエリア、一般家庭の庭先、公園や公共スペースの歩道にタネを蒔いている。エデン・アーカイブは、画像、詩、ガーデン、庭のプロジェクトである。ダイアンは、英国女王エリザベス２世６０周年記念賞、カナダ都市研究所から都市魂賞、ダヴェンポート環境賞、2017年キャシー・アッカー賞など、様々な芸術と地域社会賞を受賞している。彼女の作品は、カナダ国内外で広く展示、コレクションされている。
Dyan Marie’s art includes sculpture, text, images and place-making through projects of public art, curating, walking systems, publications, banner projects, community initiatives, festivals and poetry events. She is a founder of C Magazine, Cold City Gallery, DIG IN, Walk Here, Dupont Projects, BIG: Bloor Improvement Group and the BIG On Bloor Festival. Dyan’s Walk Here projects, created over the past 30 years, have fostered walking destinations for better health, mindset and city through the creation of public art, green space, and garden-making. Over 500 people contributed to Asphalt Gardens, each contributing a flower drawing that reminded them of a life-changing events: a birth, death, apology, celebration or an affair about love. The drawings were recreated in stainless steel and embedded into Toronto’s main Bloor Street sidewalk. How We Live In Cities, her civic organization, responds to climate change and population shift with art and ecology projects. She is a founding member of the BIG on Bloor Festival and past creative director of a Festival that it is now in its eleventh year with100,000 people attending annually. She was an organizer of Toronto’s participation in a 550-city world-wide event,1000 Thousand Poets for Change, including curating a poetry festival with 16 poetry readings at House of Lancaster strip club as a fund-raiser for a hard-to-house woman’s shelter. Presently Dyan is harvesting seeds gathered on walks along the railway lines, city lane-ways, industrial grey-lands, private front yards, parks and community spaces for the making of the Eden Archive. The Eden Archive is a project of images, poems and gardens. Dyan is the recipient of a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, the Canadian Urban Institute’s City Soul, a Davenport Environment recipient and 2017 Kathy Acker Award among other art, ecology and civic honours. She exhibits and has works in national and international collections.
